Workshop Supervisor

Workshop Supervisor, The Role:

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Workshop Supervisor is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the workshop. Supervising the team of workshop based plant fitters and labours, you will use your knowledge and experience to drive workshop productivity and maximise the labour utilisation of your team. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Ensure your team professionally, safely and effectively check service and repair all plant machinery defects to company standards
  • Approach concerns raised by your team effectively and escalate situations and concerns accordingly
  • Ensure all work is completed and that robust records are maintained i.e. diaries, allocation sheets, plant etc.
  • You will be hands on in all aspects of the maintenance and repair
  • Be committed to growing your knowledge of our hire fleet and equipment
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure compliance at all times

Are you the right person for this Role?

In order to be successful in this role, you will have the following skills/experience:

  • Supervising and leading a team
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to adapt to change
  • Previous experience working within the Plant Industry
  • Sound knowledge of the mechanics of Plant Machinery, in particular Heavy Rollers, Rotos and Telehandlers
  • Be qualified to (S)NVQ Level 3 with a CSCS Gold Card
  • Customer focused
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
