SPOA Simulator: Engaging Future Talent

A highlight of the open days was the SPOA Simulator, which gave customers and visitors a unique opportunity to experience operating plant machinery in a realistic, yet safe, virtual environment. Developed by the Scottish Plant Owners Association, this cutting-edge training tool combines motion-based seating with virtual reality to simulate the operation of heavy equipment. It enables users to train, assess their aptitude, and explore career paths in a sustainable and engaging way.

The simulator proved extremely popular across both days, offering a fun, hands-on introduction to the skills required in plant operations. It continues to be widely used at events and by SPOA members to attract new talent, promote safety, and support workforce development across the plant hire industry.
