Jarvie Plant’s support to Social Bite has helped establish the Scottish social enterprise’s first homeless village in Edinburgh.
The settlement of ten eco-friendly, purpose-built ‘NestHouses’ will provide a safe living environment for up to 20 homeless people each year.
With the last two homes now in place, the work of all involved has come to fruition. The first residents are set to receive the keys to their new homes in May.
Jarvie Plant supplied pro bono equipment that helped pave the way from initial groundworks through to completion of the village. In addition, our accommodation units, also supplied pro bono, provided the necessary welfare for those working on site.
On a recent tour of the impressive new village, Jarvie Plant’s Scott Brady said: “We’re very proud to support Social Bite’s efforts to end the cycle of homelessness by providing accommodation and support to help residents get a permanent home and job. It’s been a privilege to be part of such a great team.”
