On the back of steady growth in the past few years, the Jarvie Plant Group is further investing in people development by creating a new programme for interns and graduates. Designed to develop individuals across many areas of our business, the programme will help them gain the knowledge and skills to become our managers of the future.
Christy Fletcher, Jarvie Plant Group’s HR Advisor, commented: “The many benefits associated with investing in young talent are well documented. With a well-structured programme, students, new graduates and the business can all be winners.”
Our internship programme offers students the opportunity to take on and manage small projects, enabling them to learn and gain valuable skills in a fast-paced working environment. Interns will be asked to bring a fresh perspective and use their technical ability to help us achieve our objectives.
Our current intern, Cerys Hambley, a BSc Management student at Stirling University, is working with the Marketing department to expand our digital presence, and we are excited to see the results in the coming weeks.
Our graduate programme, due to start in September 2018, will also provide graduates with the chance of gaining valuable work-related skills. It is an expansion of the internship programme and allows students to rotate through different departments in the Jarvie Plant Group. This will give the graduate the opportunity to learn how all our processes link between departments, which has been key to our longstanding success. The graduate will work in the Finance, Operations and Sales departments over 18 months, with the opportunity to choose where to spend their final 6 months.”
