Jarvie Plant Business Expansion Continues

Since being founded by John Jarvie Snr. the Jarvie Plant Group has been continually growing. 1960 saw the opening of our first depot in Grangemouth and 2016 has just seen the opening of our eighth depot and the imminent opening of a new depot in Dundee.

New Aberdeen Depot

Jarvie Plant has opted to show faith in Aberdeen’s economy by making a substantial investment in a new depot in East Tullos Industrial Estate.

A total of 10 to 15 jobs will be created as part of the project and over the last 12 months our staff numbers across the group have risen to 150 to support our businesses expansion.

The depot is our eighth in Scotland and follows a substantial scaling up of our activities. The depot expansion is also supported by increased capital expenditure in new hire equipment, This underlines our commitment to providing our customers with a wide range of plant, vehicles and accommodation for hire from a depot near to their construction projects.

We are currently involved in the construction of the new Aberdeen Western Peripheral Bypass and are supplying equipment and machinery to the construction consortium involving Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Galliford Try.

“The extension of our depot network is an exciting development for us and we are confident it will be well received by our target market of house builders, contractors and local authorities,”
Group Business Development Director, David Jarvie

Dundee Depot Relocation

Jarvie Plant’s operation in Dundee has now relocated to Dunsinane Avenue to a newly constructed depot and workshop on a 3-acre site. The depot is now fully operational, serving customers across all three divisions – plant, accommodation and vehicles.

Ten jobs are expected to be created at the base which has been designed to accommodate a wider range of plant, accommodation and highly specified welfare vehicles.

“We have been active in the city for some time at the waterfront where we are supplying tower lights and generators to the V&A project, so we felt the time was right to put down firm roots. It’s definitely an exciting time to be in Dundee.”
