Jarvie Plant Group has bought a package of 50 JCBs to support its expanding depot network.
The £2.75m order with Scot JCB is for 3CX and 2CX Streetmaster backhoe loaders, JS130 excavators, Loadalls and the new series of 8-tonne midi excavators – the 86C-1 has become the most popular midi with Jarvie customers.
The Grangemouth-based group opened a Dundee depot last year and an Aberdeen site will go into operation soon. The equipment will also help support the company’s recently-won roads maintenance contract from Edinburgh Council.
Business development director David Jarvie said: “We use JCB for a wide variety of equipment. There is excellent availability of JCB machines in Scotland, which is not always the case with its competitors so we can generally order machines as demand dictates.
“Following requests from several customers we also have now added several JS220 models with dual flow hydraulics, enabling greater attachment utilisation including rotating grabs for demolition.”
Jarvie Plant Group now has more than 1,000 machines in its core hire fleet which also serves depots in Cowdenbeath, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Irvine and Paisley.
