The attainment of ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), ISO 14001:2004 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) during 2012 and the subsequent 3rd party annual audits to maintain these awards; and also the continuous improvement of the Jarvie Plant Group Ltd – SHEQ management systems, keeps the management team and SHEQ Advisor busy inspecting and auditing the various depots and departments thus ensuring full compliance with all the aspects of safety, health, environment and the various quality issues in our hire business.
Jarvie Plant Group Ltd has also attained the “Contractors Health & Safety Accreditation Scheme” (CHAS) award which is another measurement of our company H&S success.
Every depot / department is also “3rd party” audited quarterly to ensure full compliance with all the above accreditations.
Our health and safety standards are as expected very high, this being shown in our accident and incident statistics which show a drop of 50% over 5 years.
Jarvie Plant Group Ltd has a very comprehensive health and safety management system which has been accepted and is being applied by all employees from Director to shop floor, this being visible in the diminishing accident record and increased H&S communications by Managers and Supervisors to their respective company employees, discussing the various health and safety updates and issues thus promoting “Talk Safety and Work Safely”.
Site specific risk assessment and method statements are checked and updated as required prior to issue; generic risk assessments are also part of a quality annual review, thus ensuring that our clients receive our plant and accommodation units in a “safe and effective” manner.
Health and safety training is another valuable attribute to our safety management system; all our management team have completed an IOSH H&S training course – Directors, Managers, Supervisors, employees attend various training packages related to their work task skill – Construction Skills CPCS & CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, SVQs and various other product related training courses.
Safety development has gone on in Jarvie Plant Group Ltd we have developed a work at height “boxing ring” to allow work at height on the top of accommodation units being overhauled prior to hire, this work being actioned in a very safe manner.
